She lived in Paris, France from 2002 – 2006, where she studied the French language and ate a lot of cheese.
She splits her time between Montclair, New Jersey and New Preston, Connecticut, where she is active on several not-for-profit boards.
Christine has just completed a collection of poems entitled Setting the Table in the Age of Reason, and is currently in the research phase of a piece of creative non-fiction, highlighting the very human stories behind the restoration of a beloved 18th-Century cottage. She also writes for the local press and not-for-profts on a free-lance basis, and is a certified grant writer.

Dear Christine,
Thank you for writing about the Birches Inn at Lake Waramaug. Myself and the long-lost love of my life spent our first meeting after almost 40 years apart at a romantic weekend at The Birches the last October it was open–2005 or 2006. I had a brochure about it showing Reception and the dining room and have lost it.
My love had a stroke 2 years ago and is increasingly remembering that wonderful weekend, as he is failing. I wish I could find some images of it–they used to be on the website, but that was taken down when they closed. I believe the owners now live in Florida.
Every once in a while I search the Web for more info and found your blog.
Would you happen to know how I could access their old promotional pictures? I have tried so many avenues without success.
If you or anyone could help me I would be so grateful. Both he and I are aging and we look back on that weekend with such love and nostalgia. It would be so wonderful to see pictures of it, back before it was converted into a seasonal private residence.
Thank you in advance.
Evelyn Blair
Dear Evelyn,
Thank you so much for reading my piece about the Victorian Inns of Lake Waramaug, which was done for the benefit of the Lake Waramaug Association. Your story touched me, particularly since I have such a personal, emotional attachment to the Lake; it’s heartwarming to know that you derive strength from its beauty, as well.
As luck would have it, I had a copy of a post card of the Birches and will try to attach it here. I will also search my files, some not handy presently, to see if I might have more.
I wish you both continued happiness together.
With kind regards,
Christine
Thank you for enjoying and following my small space. Hope to read more of your work in the future. Love the comment about French cheese! 🙂
